What file types can I send and receive via text?

You can send and receive pictures, audio, and video files via text messaging. Click to view the file extensions that we currently support. Other file types are not currently compatible. Texty Pro delivers picture, video, or audio messages of up to 1MB

MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) text messages allow you to send multimedia content in addition to plain text messages. Some of the content that can be sent through MMS messages include:

  1. Photos and Images: You can send images and photos in MMS messages. Most phones and messaging apps allow you to capture and send photos directly through the messaging app.
  2. Videos: MMS messages also allow you to send videos. The length of the video that can be sent may vary depending on the device and carrier.
  3. Audio: You can also send audio files such as music or voice recordings through MMS messages.
  4. GIFs: Animated GIFs can also be sent through MMS messages, adding a touch of fun and humor to your messages.
  5. Contact Cards: You can send contact information in the form of a contact card, which can be useful when sharing your contact information or someone else's contact information with others.

It is important to note that the size limit for MMS messages may vary depending on the device and carrier. Additionally, sending MMS messages may incur additional fees, so it is important to check with your carrier for more information.

Picture and video message size limits

The Texty Pro service delivers picture, video, or audio messages of up to 1MB but please keep in mind that all networks restrict the size of MMS.

Due to the differences in devices, file types, and transcoding, we recommend that you send files that are no larger than 500KB to ensure delivery.

PDF and other file types

You can send other file types such as PDF that are not natively supported by MMS messaging by saving it to a cloud drive such as Google Drive or Dropbox and sharing the link to the file via SMS.
